I didn't know much about skeleton crew, but I could get down with a goonies in space vibe! That should hopefully have a new feel and tone which is exciting.
Also the Thrawn books are fantastic. One of my favorite Star Wars stories for sure.
Yeah, I'm excited to see something different with some new characters. Sure it's fun seeing all our old friends like Ahsoka or Captain Rex, just to pick on a couple. But it feels like it's just lazy on Disney's part to recycle old stories. So I like that we're getting something fresh.
As much as I want constant SW TV and movie content, I do appreciate that the cadence of new shows has thinned out a little bit. We just finished The Acolyte and have almost five full months to wait for the next show and that's OK. The premise also sounds fun and should be a break from all the lightsabers in The Acolyte (though I wasn't sad about a Jedi focused show either).
I bet fencing clubs get a lot of people who sign up thinking its going just be awesome sword fights and are disappointed to learn it's a lot of footwork.
I actually read something just last week that the people in charge of USA fencing for the Olympics see an uptick in interest everytime a new Star Wars film comes out.
Your piece has a lively and engaging tone that makes the content fun and informative. I particularly enjoyed how you intertwined humour with the updates on Skeleton Crew, making it feel like a conversation with a fellow fan. Additionally, your creative touch in blending Star Wars references with real-world events, like the Olympics, adds a unique and entertaining twist.
Thanks, Jon. I'm really glad you enjoyed it. Honestly, you did a good job summing up the vibe I'm going for. When I'm writing, I try to just do a sort of stream of conscious like I was sitting in the Mos Eisley cantina, shooting the shit with another fan.
"I don’t give money to politicians, but if Hamill and Bridges did a bit as Luke Skywalker meets The Dude, I would have cut a check." YES. Let's make this happen.
So much they could do. Maybe The Dude asks Luke to pull a Jedi Mind Trick on his landlord so he'll take the rent late. Or counsels Walter that anger is a path to the dark side.

Agreed. I think some variety and some spacing will be good.
I took fencing as an elective in college because of lightsabers. Sadly it was not saber but it was still something to learn the footwork.

I just want there to be a fun fight montage scored to some Creedence, man.
Just as long as it’s not The Eagles.
The NSFW video is "unavailable"?
Hmmm, that's really weird. It works for me. If you go to YouTube and just look up "Clerks 2 Star Wars" it should be the first one.
I love Randall's thoughts on Star Wars.
